This beautiful morning, I began working on creating copies for an email marketing campaign to a list that runs into hundreds of thousands of names (the exact figure is sadly not up for disclosure).

The theme I’m supposed to write on is recession.

As per my process, I began with topic research. For some reason, my first stroke of creative brilliance was gathering information on the industries / businesses / companies / nations not affected by recession.

6 hours of research (and some breaks to indulge in good things on this planet) later, I have a sizable amount of material to attempt a decent first draft o the mail copy.

What I also have is a set of reports I devoured en route.

Most of them attracted me because of their headlines. Some headlines drew me in for business reasons, some for sheer strangeness, and some just because I found them hilarious.

I have listed these businesses in hope that you will find some new business ideas for the recession. If you do, please forward the post to your family and friends who might need a little something to cheer up (or get depressed) during this recession.

I liked some of the headers, was intrigued by others while certain Businesses got me laughing.

The 2 Ps of the human existence -- Porn and Prayer -- are not affected by recession (is that surprising?) while the ones about Pakistan and Kuwait had me reading the entire story.

Frankly speaking, I have no clue why I'm posting the strange collection of Businesses not affected by the economy.

Maybe I thought I could bring a little positive signs in the fearful chaos that is reigning supreme these days.
